Bryan Zaragoza is making a big impression in Spain. The Bayern loanee put in one of his strongest performances since his move to Galicia in Celta Vigo’s 2-0 win over Real Madrid – and caused the Whites to falter on several occasions with his pace, dribbling and determination. While the Spanish press are celebrating him, the question is once again being asked in Munich: will the 24-year-old return in the summer or will he play his way out of the Bundesliga?

Bryan Zaragoza has a penchant for the big moments. He was already the key man for Granada against FC Barcelona in pre-season – now he delivered his next gala performance. In Celta’s 2-0 win over Real Madrid, the FC Bayern loanee was one of the most eye-catching players on the pitch

The assist for the 1-0 was the first visible highlight. Zaragoza was given a lot of space on the left, picked up the pace and found Williot Swedberg with a precise cross. The Swede thanked him with a fantastic chipped goal

Press reaction: „troublemaker“ – „his best evening“ – „he did what he wanted with Asencio“

The Spanish media were rarely unanimous – but this time they were. MARCA ran the headline: „Bryan Zaragoza a troublemaker“ and praised his „best evening since moving to Celta“

AS was even clearer: „He did what he wanted with Asencio. Every time he went into a duel, it was dangerous. He’s getting better and better as a Celta player.“

These voices show that Zaragoza is increasingly gaining profile in Spain – not only because of his dribbling, but also because of his tactical maturity

What does his development mean for FC Bayern?

Zaragoza has now made 19 appearances for Celta Vigo in all competitions, providing four assists – and is yet to score his first goal despite playing just under 1,000 minutes. But his development is clearly heading in the right direction

Bayern are now faced with the crucial question: will they have to bring him back in the summer – or will his loan lead to his departure?

According to Sport BILD, Celta Vigo have a purchase option worth around 12 million euros, which could automatically take effect if two conditions are met: Zaragoza play more than 70 percent of the possible minutes and Celta finish the season in at least eleventh place

Celta are currently in tenth place – so the team’s success fits the bill. However, Zaragoza himself has played just over 50 percent of his possible minutes. The option has therefore not yet been activated

If Zaragoza continues to play as well as he did against Real Madrid, the 70 percent mark is not unrealistic.
