Bayern Munich have been linked with Sunderland pair Brian Brobbey and Robin Roefs, a potential double move that could push towards £100m if bids arrive, according to Sunderland Echo.
Both only joined last summer and have impressed during Sunderland’s first season back in the Premier League. Brobbey has reportedly been monitored by Bayern ahead of a possible summer switch, while Roefs is said to be on their radar as they consider long-term goalkeeping options.
The Dutch duo are on long-term contracts on Wearside. Roefs is valued around £60m, while Brobbey is understood to be between £40m and £50m after his first campaign in English football.
Brobbey arrived from Ajax for around £17.3m, potentially rising to roughly £21.6m, and has six goals in 25 appearances. Beyond the numbers, his physical presence and movement have been central to Régis Le Bris’ side. The 24-year-old has previously attracted Arsenal and is expected to be in the Netherlands squad for the World Cup, which could further lift his profile.
Roefs has been one of Sunderland’s standout performers and is firmly the club’s number one. Bayern are believed to be seeking a long-term successor to Manuel Neuer, with Roefs reportedly among their options. The German champions also admire Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, while Chelsea have been credited with strong interest in the 23-year-old.
Sunderland are under no pressure to sell. Recruited through a data-led model often compared to Brighton’s, both players are young, improving and proven at Premier League level, so any Bayern move would test the club’s resolve. Brobbey could now command more than double what Sunderland paid Ajax, and if interest becomes formal bids, sporting director Florent Ghisolfi will have major calls to make.
