Bayern Munich are reportedly preparing to join the hunt for a big-name striker this summer amid speculation surrounding Harry Kane's long-term future at the club.
Kane, 31, is enjoying yet another dazzling individual campaign, racking up 31 goals and ten assists in 35 games for Bayern, and his long wait for silverware appears to be drawing to a close as Vincent Kompany's side boast an imposing lead atop the Bundesliga standings.
It was recently revealed, however, that Kane still has one eye on his Premier League career and his contract includes a series of release clauses which would facilitate a departure down the line if the veteran forward decides to take his talents elsewhere.
While Kane is happy at Bayern and those in charge at the club are delighted with Kane's impact, there is an acceptance inside the Allianz Arena that the 31-year-old will not be around forever and so plans are being drawn up to pursue a high-level signing this summer.
German journalist Christian Falk states Bayern are ready to splash the cash and will rival the Premier League's elite for big names like Sporting CP's Victor Gyokeres and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, both of whom are on Bayern's list of targets.
Much will depend on Bayern's outgoings, however. The hope is that Tottenham Hotspur will trigger their €60m (£50.3m) option to sign Mathys Tel permanently, which would free up the funds needed to sign a new striker.
There was interest in Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku in January but the Frenchman is not mentioned as a possible target this time around.
