PSG have recently targeted top French talent in the transfer market, adding Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué, and Lucas Chevalier to their ranks.

The club now appears to be looking at bolstering its defense with another high-profile French player. While links to Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté have surfaced, another option could be emerging.

Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano will become a free agent at the end of the 2025-26 season, and PSG are reportedly among the clubs showing interest. However, any move for Upamecano is expected to draw significant competition.

BILD has suggested that Bayern Munich’s partial progress in talks with Dayot Upamecano may not necessarily lead to a full agreement.

According to the report: “FC Bayern would like to extend Dayot Upamecano’s contract, which runs until the summer of 2026. However, discussions between the club and the player are proving challenging.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid and Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Upamecano’s situation closely. Liverpool’s interest comes amid concerns they could miss out on Marc Guehi for a second time.

While BILD highlighted both clubs’ interest, the outlet emphasized that Manchester United could ultimately have the final word. The report stated that the Red Devils are “showing serious interest” in bringing Upamecano to Old Trafford.

Recently, Sport Bild’s Christian Falk reported that PSG are monitoring the situation of Upamecano. The Frenchman is seen as an option for the club, who could pursue a deal if the player were to be a free agent next summer.

Meanwhile, a previous report from Fichajes revealed that Bayern Munich’s center-back has yet to sign a new contract, leaving the door open for a potential free transfer that would appeal to Manchester United, Real Madrid, and PSG.
