There appears to be a reluctance from Chelsea to pay off Raheem Sterling the remainder of his contract according to reports.
Sterling was a player the Blues were desperately looking to move on before the end of the window, but despite interest a move failed to materialise.
There was said to be interest from three Premier League clubs, whilst Sterling’s preference was thought to be to remain in London.
Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus were also thought to have had interest, whilst Chelsea were hoping to get around £20m for the 30-year-old.
However, Chelsea received no offers for Sterling on deadline day, and he’s still at the club training away from the first team with the now infamous “bomb squad.”

Windows in Saudi Arabia and Turkey are still open, but it’s understood Sterling has no interest in moving to either of those leagues.
One option Chelsea could have is to pay off the remainder of Sterling’s contract, but BBC Sport have reported the Blues are reluctant to do that.
The report adds Sterling is reluctant to hand Chelsea an easy way out, whilst the Blues respect Sterling’s decision, and understand why he doesn’t want to uproot his family again.
Sterling wasn’t the only player to remain at the club on deadline day, with Axel Disasi also failing to finalise a move away.
Disasi is said to have turned down three loan offers from Premier League clubs, whilst there’s reportedly interest in him from Saudi Arabia.

His former side Monaco are said to have made an enquiry, but they were only interested in a loan deal, with Nicolas Jackson’s move to Bayern Munich taking the final international loan spot.
It remains to be seen if Disasi secures a move to Saudi Arabia or Turkey, otherwise he faces of the prospect of playing no football until January which isn’t ideal for all parties involved.
