Begraoui hits hat-trick as Estoril climb to ninth

Estoril thrashed Estrela Amadora 5-0 at Estádio José Gomes on Monday, rising from 10th to ninth in Liga Portugal.

Joao Carvalho opened the scoring in the third minute, turning in Jordan William Holsgrove's corner to put the visitors in charge. Marcus was then sent off (45.), leaving Estrela down to 10.

After the restart, Yanis Begraoui struck (51.) and then converted from the spot after Ricard Sánchez won a penalty (54.). Alejandro Mendez added another (64.). Begraoui completed his treble from Pedro Amaral's pass (70.).

Estoril controlled 60.5% possession and recorded six shots on target from 11 attempts. Estrela Amadora produced six efforts, testing Joel Robles twice.

Carvalho finished with a goal and two assists. He sits top of the Liga Portugal assists chart on seven.
