Beier on Kovac: "He trusted me and I finally played in the right position" | OneFootball

Speaking to local media Ruhr Nachrichten, Borussia Dortmund striker Maximilian Beier spoke fondly about the club's head coach Niko Kovac.

The German youngster mentioned how Kovac raised expectations and how he coped with the pressure of joining a club like BVB last summer.

“When Niko Kovac asked the team what positions they wanted to play in, I only wrote 'striker' on the paper. Kovac trusted me and I finally played in the right position.”

“Then I was the new player and things weren't ideal for me. You start to worry about that. But I took my time and arrived,” Beier explained.
