There’s certainly been room for optimism in Marseille in recent weeks. Les Olympiens secured their fifth straight win in all competitions on Saturday evening against Le Havre (6-2), and there’s more: OM have gone top of the league following Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-3 draw with Strasbourg on Friday. Yet Roberto De Zerbi wasn’t yet planning to get ahead of himself, during his post-match press conference attended by Get French Football News. “Today is certainly an important day because OM are top of the table,” De Zerbi admitted post-match. “It was a very important match. The first match after the break is never easy because you have to get back into the swing of things. Yesterday, I said that we needed to rediscover our enthusiasm with the Vélodrome and the supporters. We are top of the table and we want to stay there. And to do that, we have to win these kinds of matches,” insisted the Italian coach. GFFN | George Boxall – reporting from the Stade Vélodrome, Marseille.
