Belén Aquino has been named in Uruguay’s squad for April’s Fifa window, further thinning Corinthians’ ranks for a United States tournament. According to Meu Timao, head coach Ariel Longo has called up the forward for Women’s Nations League fixtures, a Conmebol pathway to World Cup qualifying.

Uruguay face Peru, Bolivia and Chile on 10, 14 and 18 April respectively. They are eighth in the standings with two points from two draws and one defeat.

So far, each nation has played at least three games in a single round-robin that ends with nine fixtures per team. The top two qualify, while third and fourth head to a play-off.

Aquino’s call-up takes Corinthians to eight internationals away this window. Lelê, Thaís Ferreira, Gi Fernandes, Duda Sampaio and Ana Vitória are in Arthur Elias’s Brazil squad for the Fifa Series at Arena Pantanal, while Dayana Rodríguez and Gisela Robledo join Venezuela and Colombia respectively, also in the Nations League.

All will miss the Teal Rising Cup in the United States. The Brabas face Kansas City Current in the semi-final on nine April at 22:00 Brasília time. The final and third-place match are on 12 April, and a win could set up a meeting with Palmeiras or América of Mexico.

The call-ups also put the 20 April trip to Juventude at Estádio Homero Soldatelli in doubt in the Campeonato Brasileiro. Before departing, the players remain available and should feature on Friday, three April at 21:00 against Red Bull Bragantino at the Fazendinha.
