Morgan Rogers is a long term Chelsea transfer target, and keeps being linked with the Blues for a potential move.

It’s a transfer rumour that simply won’t go away. Chelsea keep being linked with moves for Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa, and today GiveMeSport had another update on the potential transfer deal.

The fact that Rogers signed a new contract in November apparently doesn’t preclude a move away in the future – although it would make it very expensive.

Ben Jacobs wrote that the deal would now likely have to be £100m or more – Villa would aim for a British record transfer. Liverpool and Man U are also interested in signing the former Man City youth player.

Rogers a perfect signing for Chelsea – but Blues need to focus on CL qualification

Rogers would be a dream player for this team. If he had been on the pitch against Burnley on Saturday, we’re very confident we would have walked away with 3 points rather than 1. The same could be said for a few games this season.

One thing is for sure – Rogers won’t be coming to Chelsea if the Blues aren’t in the Champions League. Especially as that would likely mean that his current team do make it. Our primary focus has to be on getting as many points as possible from our last 11 games before we start worrying about £100m transfer deals.

In other news…

Estevao’s absence against Burnley felt like it really hurt Chelsea, who missed his creativity and threat in the final third. We hope he’s back soon.

Chelsea are proving better against teams who have more of the ball, and the stats show it pretty starkly. It’s a problem Liam Rosenior needs to fix.
