Benfica and Sporting set for International Masters Cup in Portimão | OneFootball

Benfica and Sporting will share a pre-season futsal stage in the Algarve as they enter the International Masters Cup in Portimão. According to Glorioso 1904, it is billed as the leading pre-season event in the sport.

The Portuguese rivals will be joined by Palma Futsal, the European runners-up, and Jimbee Cartagena, former back-to-back Spanish champions. Sporting are European champions and holders of the trophy, while Benfica arrive as national back-to-back champions.

The event is set to bring together some of the sport's biggest names, with organisers aiming to make Portimão the centre of the futsal world for the weekend.

Portimão will also stage the second Futsal Youth Masters between 26 and 29 August for youth categories. After a successful debut year, the tournament returns to promote and develop emerging futsal talent.

The match schedule and the full youth line-up will be confirmed closer to the event. On the main card, Benfica and Sporting are again among the headline names as elite European teams converge on the Algarve.
