Benfica have opened talks to sign wantaway Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha, Bild reports.
The Portuguese club are said to be prepared to table an offer of around €25 million, a level at which Bayern would engage in negotiations.

However, sticking points remain, notably Palhinha’s salary of about €8.5 million per year and the overall financial package required from Benfica.
Head coach Marco Silva is described as a strong backer of the move, having previously worked with the defensive midfielder at Fulham.
Palhinha spent last season on loan at Tottenham, who opted against activating their purchase option to sign him permanently.
