Benfica target André Luiz ‘in talks’ with Champions League 24th-placed Olympiakos | OneFootball

André Luiz could be on the move this window, with Olympiakos stepping up their pursuit of the Benfica target.

A Bola reports that the Greek club, 24th in the Champions League league phase, have opened talks with the winger’s camp over a deal worth around 20 million euros as negotiations with Benfica have cooled.

Olympiakos, whose majority shareholder Evangelos Marinakis also owns Rio Ave, are pushing to secure the player within hours, and there are indications he could travel to Greece to finalise contract details.

The chance to play Champions League football with the club appeals to the Brazilian and to head coach José Luis Mendilibar, who believes he could be an important addition. He is expected in the Greek capital this week.

This season for Rio Ave, the winger has played 20 matches, 19 in Liga Portugal Betclic and one in the Taça de Portugal, totalling 1,530 minutes. He has seven goals and five assists, and is valued at four million euros with a contract until June 2029.
