Benfica’s push for Rafa Silva faces resistance, with Besiktas holding out for €10 million and the Lisbon side unwilling to overspend.
NOW reports that José Mourinho has made the forward a priority for January and believes his attributes fit the team’s approach.
Talks are described as difficult. Benfica have offered €5 million, which Besiktas rejected, and Rui Costa’s hierarchy are exploring creative ways to close the gap.
The player remains out of the main group at Besiktas, training separately, and wants to return to Benfica. He feels his time in Türkiye is over and would welcome working under Mourinho in Lisbon.
This season he has featured in 16 competitive matches for Besiktas, 10 in the Süper Lig, four in the Europa Conference League and two in Europa League qualifying, totalling 1,360 minutes with five goals and three assists. He is under contract until June 2028 and is valued at €5 million.
