Benfica’s Antonio Silva to undergo Bournemouth medical ahead of €30m transfer | OneFootball

Bournemouth are negotiating a deal worth around €30 million, approximately £25.6m and $34.5m, for Benfica centre-back Antonio Silva, with a medical planned for this weekend.

According to NY Times, the 22-year-old has one year left on his Benfica contract and is expected to finalise the transfer afterwards.

Silva offers European pedigree, with 29 Champions League outings and six in the Europa League. He won four first-team trophies with Benfica and lifted the Nations League with Portugal in 2025.

A product of Benfica’s academy, he broke into the senior side in 2022. He has made 181 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals.

Last season he featured 41 times under Jose Mourinho as Benfica finished third in the Primeira Liga.

Silva has 20 Portugal caps since his 2022 debut. He was in the squads for the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024, but missed out this summer.

Centre-back Marcos Senesi left Bournemouth at the end of his contract this summer and joined Tottenham Hotspur.

Should the deal go through, Silva would be Bournemouth’s second addition of the window after striker Alvaro Rodriguez arrived from Elche earlier this month.
