Inter Miami midfielder Benjamin Cremaschi has been voted the 2025 U.S. Soccer Young Male Player of the Year, presented by Henkel, after a standout year capped by finishing as top scorer at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
According to Inter Miami, the Key Biscayne native won 38.9 percent of the weighted vote, ahead of Cavan Sullivan on 34.8 and Mathis Albert on 12.3. Ballots came from national team staff, capped players in 2025, federation officials, league coaches and directors, media and former players.
Cremaschi captained the United States to the quarterfinals in Chile, starting every match as the U-20s reached the last eight for a fifth straight tournament. He scored five times to become only the second American to claim the tournament’s Golden Boot.
He struck a hat-trick and provided two assists in a 9-1 group win over New Caledonia, then added a brace in the 3-0 Round of 16 victory against 2023 runners-up Italy. His haul set a U-20 U.S. record for goals in a single tournament.
After his senior debut in September 2023, Cremaschi featured at the Paris 2024 Olympics as the squad’s youngest member. He earned a first call-up under USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino last January, starting friendlies against Venezuela and Costa Rica.
At club level he made 22 appearances, including 16 starts, recording one goal and four assists as Inter Miami went on to win the 2025 MLS Cup.
The honour carries a $10,000 donation to a charity of the recipient’s choice, which Cremaschi directed to the Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics. The rare neurological condition affects about one in 15,000 people, including his cousin.
