Bernardo Silva has ruled out an immediate return to Benfica after confirming the club made contact about a move.
“I am not going to Benfica. There is one intention that is certain, I want to return,” he said on Canal 11’s programme ‘Soltinhos Pelo Mundo’.
“I do not know if, when I want to return, the club will want me. There were contacts to see if there was an intention.”
“I want to resolve it between the end of the season and the start of training with the national team, to have a clear head, because the World Cup is too important to be thinking about other things.”
At 31, the Portugal international is preparing to end a long spell at Manchester City, where he won multiple trophies. Galatasaray is among the possible destinations.
This season he has played 50 times for City, 36 in the Premier League, eight in the Champions League, three in the League Cup and three in the FA Cup. Across 3,649 minutes he has three goals and five assists. He is valued at 27 million euros.
