The 2024 summer signing hasn't been as successful as some of his fellow recruits.
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more...
Birmingham City's depth will be getting worryingly good for the rest of their Championship rivals.
In their first match of the season against Ipswich Town, Chris Davies was able to replace Kyogo Furuhashi, Jay Stansfield, Demarai Gray and Keshi Anderson with Tommy Doyle, Lyndon Dykes, Ethan Laird and Taylor Gardner-Hickman, and that's not even mentioning the likes of Eiran Cashin, Krystian Bielik and Willum Willumsson who weren't used.
A bench of that quality is going to give them a seriously good chance of achieving their Premier League goals in a very timely fashion.
Birmingham's quick rise up the English footballing pyramid will have some negative knock-on effects for some of their players. Those who struggled for regular minutes in League One will most certainly feel it difficult to break into Davies' side now.
One player who could become a casualty of Blues' success is Scott Wright. The 28-year-old winger, who arrived from Rangers last summer, never got going in the third tier last time out, mostly because of injuries. He joined for a reported £300,000 fee and signed a three-year deal.
The chances of him getting ahead of some of the aforementioned names are not great, so, if Birmingham can get some money back for him, one of Football League World's City fan pundits, Jason Moore, thinks the club should do all they can to move him on.
He said: "So Scott Wright is a good player on his day, but he's sort of the same category as Emil Hansson. You just can't afford to carry him and unfortunately that's all we're doing at the moment.
"He's been quite injury-prone. I think the injury he picked up at the end of the season, if I'm correct, it was a bit of a weird one, but he's still out for months, so I don't even think we're going to be out to offload him. But the second he's fit then, yeah, I'd be getting rid.
"His injury record at Rangers weren't the best and he's just carried it on to us. So yeah, if we can get rid, I'd get rid and get him off the wage books because he's going to be a passenger and, to be honest, I don't think he's quite good enough anyway, especially as a starter.
"He was an okay impact sub because of his pace, but, if it was me, I'd be getting rid of him straight away, the second he is fit."
We've already seen some of the brutality that comes with Birmingham's success with Alfie May's situation. He has been sold to Huddersfield Town because Davies could not guarantee him regular minutes in this new and improved side.
If May hasn't been spared, then it'd be a surprise to see Wright stay his potential day of Blues execution. The forward scored more goals in League One last season (16) than the ex-Rangers winger made appearances (13).
The manager and the chairman, Tom Wagner, have displayed their ruthless streak at times, and it's hard to see that changing when it comes to less important members of the squad.
