Eli Junior Kroupi will not be leaving Bournemouth this summer after being ruled out for three to four months with a fractured metatarsal.

Bournemouth have received enquires fromManchester City and Barcelona in recent weeks for the forward, who scored 13 goals in 33 appearances during an impressive debut campaign with the Cherries. Arsenal have also monitored his situation.

His 13 goals saw Kroupi Junior break the record for the highest number of goals scored by any teenager in their debut season inPremier League history, eclipsing Robbie Fowler and Robbie Keane.

Several sides have contacted Bournemouth to discuss the conditions of a potential deal, though the Cherries have insisted the 20-year-old is not for sale.

Suitors are now set to look elsewhere, following Kroupi Junior's injury in pre-season. Bournemouth have confirmed the forward has undergone 'successful surgery'.

"AFC Bournemouth can confirm that Junior Kroupi has undergone successful surgery after sustaining a foot injury during a pre-season training session in Austria,"a club statement said.

"The 20-year-old returned to the UK earlier this week to undergo the procedure and will consequently face a spell on the sidelines.

"Junior will now be supported by the club's medical and performance staff as he begins a period of rehabilitation.

"Everyone at AFC Bournemouth extends their best wishes to Junior and looks forward to seeing him back on the pitch."
