Schjelderup, who came through at Bodo/Glimt, spoke of his affection for the club. He said living about 100 metres from the stadium makes watching them particularly special.

Currently in talks over a contract renewal, the winger praised the Norwegian side’s work under Knutsen. He said he is happy for them, is supporting them, and may greet some close friends when they are in Lisbon.

This season for Benfica, Schjelderup is valued at 14 million euros and has made 34 competitive appearances, with 19 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 10 in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga. Across 1,853 minutes he has seven goals and three assists.
