Bologna duo take aim at Milan ahead of double meeting: “We have a lot to play for” | OneFootball

After drawing with Juventus on Sunday night, Bologna now turn their attentions to two crucial matches against AC Milan in two competitions.

A quirk of the fixture list means that Milan will face the Rossoblu twice in the space of a few days, starting with a league meeting on Friday at San Siro that certainly means a lot more to the latter, given they remain in the top four battle.

Then, it will be time for the final of the Coppa Italia on May 14 in Rome. While the Rossoneri sit ninth in the league and can therefore prioritise the cup – given it is their only realistic route into Europe – Bologna certainly have to try and win both games.

Remo Freuler gave an interview to DAZN at the end of the 1-1 draw against Juventus last night. The Swiss midfielder also spoke about the next two matches against Milan, with MilanPress relaying his comments.

“In the league we’re going for the Champions League, then there is the Coppa Italia final. First we have to focus on the league, we have drawn two games in a row,” he said.

“On Friday we go to San Siro and take the field to win. It’s nice that we are still there to play for something, maybe we get to this point and there is nothing left to play for. We have a lot to play for and also a lot to lose.”

Meanwhile, midfielder Lewis Ferguson spoke to SportMediaset after the match against the Bianconeri, also commenting on the next two games which could define the season for Bologna.

“Today against Juventus we lacked quality, I should have done better with the last chance. Anyway it’s a point, now we have to recover and go to Milan,” he said.

“For us it’s a very important moment, there are still three very important league games that we want to win and also the final, but now we only think about Milan in the league. We want to win, in the end we’ll see.”
