Bolton are keen on a deal with Aston Villa for the 19-year-old
Bolton Wanderers are preparing for life in the Championship after clinching their promotion through the play-offs.
Steven Schumacher previously earned promotion from League One when he was in charge at Plymouth Argyle, and now he’ll be looking to cement the Whites in the second tier long-term.
The Greater Manchester outfit have already been active in the transfer market, as they look to strengthen their squad for next season.
Luca Stephenson has arrived on a permanent basis from Liverpool, along with Akin Famewo from Hull City.
Meanwhile, David Watson and Ben Davies have both joined as free agents, and Augsburg winger Kyliane Dong has also joined on loan for the season.
But Bolton’s business likely won’t end there, as they have until September 1 to complete their remaining transfer activity.

It has been reported by the Sky Sports Transfer Centre (July 14, 17.06) that Bolton are among the clubs interested in a deal with Aston Villa for Ben Broggio.
The Whites are keen on the 19-year-old, who spent part of last season on loan with Scottish side Falkirk.
The teenager made the temporary switch up north in the January market, and he made a total of 14 appearances in the Premiership, contributing five goals and two assists.
Broggio is now attracting interest this summer, with the Premier League side believed to be open to another loan deal.
Aston Villa are seeking somewhere that can give the wide player regular playing time in a bid to aid his development as a player.
However, Bolton face competition in the race for his signature, with Belgian giants Club Brugge also keeping tabs on his availability.
It remains to be seen what the player’s preference will be for the next step in his career, although he has never played outside of the United Kingdom.
A desire to remain in England could swing the tide in favour of Schumacher’s side, who are looking to bolster their midfield options.
Broggio has earned a strong reputation for his performances at underage level, as well as while on loan at Falkirk.
But he has yet to break into Unai Emery’s plans at Villa Park, and will need a loan again this season in order to have a chance at first team football with the Premier League team.
Bolton will return to competitive action on 15 August for their first game back in the Championship against fellow North West side Preston North End at home.

Broggio is still inexperienced, so there are no guarantees that he is ready for life in the Championship just yet.
However, his performances in Scotland were promising, and he proved he can be a real attacking threat for Falkirk, which the Whites will need next season.
At 19, he also has plenty of room to grow and develop over the course of a loan spell, so this is a promising possible move for Schumacher’s side.
And perhaps a successful loan spell could open up more doors for the club, potentially even a permanent move for Broggio in the future, so this is a move that could work out quite well for Bolton.
