The 20-year-old winger, on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, has scored three league goals and registered four assists under Steven Schumacher thus far, and provided arguably the best moment of the season across the EFL with his last-gasp winner against Huddersfield Town.

The Bolton News reports that the Seagulls do have a recall clause in January, and that Sheffield United have been running checks on the youngster in recent weeks, with Championship clubs alerted by his excellent start to life at Bolton.

Brighton, though, are thought to be happy with the progress that he is continuing to make under Schumacher.

After an inconsistent start to the campaign, Wanderers picked up their first away win of the season against Huddersfield last week, and will aim to use the result as a springboard to push the club back into the promotion race after missing out on the play-offs last term.

With Bolton currently sitting just outside the play-off places in League One, Cozier-Duberry has dropped a huge hint regarding his Bolton future.

Speaking to The Bolton News over the weekend, the winger was asked whether he envisages staying with the club until the end of the season, to which he replied: "That's the plan, yes!

"I love playing for Bolton. The fans have been great, and I'm really appreciative of their support. I want to keep building and get them off their feet," said the winger, amid talk of Sheffield United interest.

"I want as many goals and as many assists as I can this season and contribute as much as I can to getting us promoted."

Wanderers head coach Steven Schumacher was also glowing in his support for the winger, who sits just behind Mason Burstow (eight) when it comes to goal contributions for the club this term, with seven in total.

"Amario is a really good talent," said Schumacher.

"He can win you games with a moment even when teams double up on him, but he's got to keep learning and improving - and he will. He has got a fantastic attitude."

Bolton fell short in the 2023/24 play-off final before missing out on the top six entirely last term.

After an inconsistent start to the current campaign, two moments of quality from Cozier-Duberry made the difference against Huddersfield, potentially changing the course of the season for Schumacher's men.

"To come up with that says a lot," said Schumacher.

"It was an unbelievable cross in for Sam Dalby, and then when he goes through at the end, it would have been easy to panic in that moment, but he didn't.

"He put his laces through it, and it's a great goal.

"I am delighted for him, I'm delighted for all the players, because it wasn't easy at Burton the manner we lost that game."

Before last week's dramatic scenes in West Yorkshire, Bolton were without a win away from home this season, though performances were not necessarily the issue.

With their expected goals tally sitting at 18.2, and their expected goals against stat of 11.7, Bolton were simply not scoring enough, and conceding too many, with 16 goals scored, and 14 conceded before their most recent win.

Before the win against Huddersfield, their most recent away trips ended in defeat against Northampton and Burton, prompting Schumacher to call for his side to: "Score first! You've got to show more quality."

And while Wanderers went a goal down against Huddersfield, they showed immense character to grab the game by the scruff of the neck in the second half, before coming up with two moments of magic in additional time at the end of the match, with young Cozier-Duberry at the heart of everything.

Therefore, Wanderers fans will be delighted to hear that their Premier League loanee is loving life at their football club, and has no plans to cut short his time at the Toughseet in January.

He looks to be a cut above at League One level, having previously made 22 appearances in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers last season, and is providing Bolton with that real talismanic presence on the wing.

Away form had been Bolton's Achilles heel across their opening 12 matches - they now need to use the Huddersfield win as a springboard.
