Borussia Dortmund release video of Aarón Anselmino bidding tearful farewell to BVB teammates after early Chelsea recall | OneFootball

Borussia Dortmund have released a video of Chelsea centre-back Aarón Anselmino bidding farewell to his teammates whilst wiping tears from his face. The Bundesliga outfit – known to be furious Anselmino’s parent club for their late decision to recall the Argentine – have pushed back publicly against the Premier League club. 

Will this change Anselmino’s situation?

One cannot see this public relations move working in Dortmund’s favor. Chelsea recalled Anselmino with a specific purpose in mind. Whether it’s offering the 20-year-old more minutes at a Premier League level or loaning him out again, the Argentine U20 international won’t be moving back to Westphalia this spring. 

One can assume that Dortmund will nevertheless remain in contact with Anselmino and some sort of future arrangement can’t be ruled out. It remains the case that Dortmund consider themselves well-positioned in central defense even without Anselmino.

No further moves beyond the release of the video are expected.
