Bournemouth 3-2 Liverpool: Adli’s stoppage-time winner hands Iraola first win over the Reds

Bournemouth claimed a dramatic 3-2 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
Mohamed Salah had an early chance for Liverpool, but he fluffed his lines.
Bournemouth took the lead from their first real opening, with Virgil van Dijk failing to deal with a long ball. Alex Scott slipped in Evanilson for the finish.
The Cherries doubled their lead in the 36th minute, as Alex Jimenez ran behind the Reds’ defence to fire James Hill’s pass into the back of the net.
Bournemouth’s momentum was halted before the break, with Van Dijk halving the deficit for the Reds.
Wataru Endo threaded a through pass into Cody Gakpo’s path in the second half, but Djordje Petrovic quickly came off his line to avert the danger.
Liverpool continued to dominate possession and were presented with an opening, but Cody Gakpo dragged his effort wide.
The visitors were eventually rewarded for their effort, as Szoboszlai struck a free-kick home to make it 2-2.
Just when Liverpool thought they had secured a point, Amine Adli scored in stoppage time to hand Bournemouth a deserved victory.
This was manager Andoni Iraola’s first-ever victory over Liverpool and ended their 13-game unbeaten run across all competitions.
Liverpool have won just ten league games in 23 outings this season, and Slot’s future looks increasingly uncertain given his team’s underwhelming performances.
