Bournemouth have been one of the surprise packages in the Prem this season.
Last night, Antoine Semenyo netted a goal inside the first minute and that was enough to nick a 1-0 win over Fulham, giving the Cherries a big three points as they chase a spot in Europe next year.
It was a proper important win too, as it bumped them up to eighth place, just ahead of Marco Silva’s lot. All three – Bournemouth, Fulham, and Brighton – are now sitting on 48 points.
Finishing eighth could be enough to sneak into the Europa Conference League, and after last night’s result, Bournemouth will be buzzing, looking to keep Fulham behind them in the race.
On top of that, the result marked a bit of a milestone for Andoni Iraola’s side.
With 48 points now in the bag, they’ve already matched their best-ever Premier League tally – a total that got them 12th place in 2023–24. And the mad thing is, they’ve still got six games left to play. So Iraola’s got every chance of helping the club smash their points record two seasons in a row.
