PSG and Bournemouth had been stuck in a stalemate over Illia Zabarnyi, with neither side ready to make a move. That’s changed, though, as the French club edges are on the verge of completing signing the Ukrainian defender.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared that Zabarnyi is keen to join PSG and even reached a verbal agreement with them back in June. Despite some rumors, Romano made it clear there haven’t been any serious talks with Tottenham Hotspur as Premier League clubs are set to miss out.

Moreover, TalkSPORT reported that PSG have agreed with Bournemouth to sign Zabarnyi for €63 million, so after weeks of talks between the two sides, it seems that both sides are happy with the amount that was needed to complete the deal.

With Zabarnyi reportedly on the move, Bournemouth need to replace him and they are looking to Ligue 1 for that player. RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins reports that Bafodé Diakité has reached an agreement with Bournemouth on a five-year contract.

With Zabarnyi set to join PSG, the Cherries have reopened talks with Lille. However, Lille’s president is reportedly still holding out for €40 million for Diakité.

Recently, journalist Ben Jacobs reported that PSG have reopened talks to sign Zabarnyi, who has already agreed to a five-year deal and is now waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement, despite interest from Tottenham.

Jacobs adds that if the move happens, the final fee is expected to be closer to Bournemouth’s €70 million asking price than the €60 million previously discussed. Still, it looks like the Parisians managed to shape the deal closer to what they were willing to pay rather than meeting the Premier League side’s asking price.
