Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas has reportedly agreed to join Bournemouth, with the two clubs working on finalizing the deal.
The Greek custodian was Marco Baroni’s first choice during the second half of the previous campaign, when he managed to usurp Ivan Provedel. However, Maurizio Sarri reversed the pecking order following his arrival in the summer, and the experienced Italian shot-stopper has proved the manager right, registering 10 clean sheets in his 20 Serie A appearances, and only conceding 16 goals.
Therefore, Mandas and Lazio decided to part ways, as the 24-year-old believes he deserves more than an understudy role, while Claudio Lotito and Angelo Fabiani are eyeing a major capital gain for a player who only cost them €1 million in the summer of 2023.

The former OFI Crete goalkeeper has been linked with Juventus, Genoa and Torino in recent weeks, but Bournemouth emerged as the ultimate favorites to land him in recent days.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Mandas has agreed terms with the Cherries, who are negotiating with the Aquile to sort out the remaining details. The transfer market expert expects the goalkeeper to join the Cherries on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy for €22-23 million
British journalist Ben Jacobs adds that the buy clause will be activated if Bournemouth qualify for a European competition at the end of the season, and Mandas reaches a certain number of appearances.
