PSG are expected to prioritize signing a center-back this summer, and Bournemouth ace Illya Zabarnyi remains high on their list. But bringing in the Ukrainian defender is proving to be far from straightforward.
The Parisians have embraced a youth-first approach in recent transfer windows, adding the likes of Lucas Beraldo and Willian Pacho. That strategy appears set to continue heading into the summer.
According to L’Équipe’s Loïc Tanzi, PSG have already opened talks with Bournemouth over a potential deal for Zabarnyi. The 22-year-old is reportedly open to the move, especially with the FIFA Club World Cup on the horizon, but Bournemouth are holding firm on their €70 million price tag.
More recently, EuroSport’s Romain Collet-Gaudin reported that the deal is close to being finalized, with Zabarnyi expected to join PSG after the Club World Cup.

Sky Sports reports that Bournemouth are holding firm on their €70 million asking price for Zabarnyi, with interested clubs already informed of the valuation. Paris Saint-Germain continue to push for a deal, but no agreement has been reached at this stage.
Meanwhile, some Premier League clubs are monitoring the situation and could consider making a move for the 22-year-old defender later on.
This week, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that PSG had fresh talks about a deal for Ilya Zabarny as negotiations continue to progress. The Bournemouth defender is keen on the move, and discussions between the two clubs are ongoing as PSG work to finalize an agreement.
