Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove will be in the stands at the Stadio Franchi for Monday’s match with Udinese, for the first time since he was rushed out in an ambulance.

The player collapsed at the 17th minute of their Serie A game against Inter on December 1 and briefly had a cardiac arrest on the pitch.

He was already breathing by the time he was loaded into the ambulance and rushed to the local hospital, where he underwent tests and received an implanted defibrillator.

Bove visited his teammates at the Viola Park training centre, but tomorrow will be the first time he has set foot back in the Stadio Artemio Franchi since that medical emergency.

His father Giovanni had been in the stands for the match with Cagliari two weeks ago, seated alongside director general Alessandro Ferrari.

The 22-year-old, who is on loan with an option to buy from Roma, had scored one goal with four assists in 14 competitive appearances for the Viola this season.

Under the current Serie A rules, Bove cannot play with the implanted defibrillator, but the hospital provided him with one that can be removed at a later date.
