Braga host Porto in Liga Portugal at the Estádio Municipal de Braga on 22 March 2026, with the leaders looking to extend their advantage and the hosts aiming to strengthen their European push.
Porto sit top on 69 points and edged the reverse fixture 2-1 in November 2025. Braga are fourth with 46 points and in position for European football.
Form points to a high-level contest. Braga have beaten Nacional and Vitória S.C., drew 2-2 with Sporting CP, and routed Ferencváros 4-0 in Europe. Porto thumped Moreirense 3-0, beat Arouca, drew at Benfica, and defeated VfB Stuttgart home and away in Europe.
Team news could shape selections. Braga are without defender Adrian Barišić. Porto are missing forwards Luuk de Jong and Samu Aghehowa plus defender Nehuén Pérez, trimming options at both ends of the pitch.
Styles contrast sharply. Braga average 63% possession with 87.43% passing accuracy and have scored 52 league goals, so Carlos Vicens' side may look to control the ball and feed Rodrigo Zalazar, the division's fourth top scorer with 14, and Ricardo Horta on 13. Porto have also scored 52 but their defence stands out, conceding only 10 with 18 clean sheets. They could lean on creators Gabri Veiga and Victor Froholdt and finishers such as William.
A win would lift Braga to 49 points and consolidate their hold on European places. Victory for Porto would take them to 72 points and could tighten their grip on first place in the title race.
