Gabriel Brazão was Santos' standout in a draw with Corinthians in the sixth round of the Brasileirão. The goalkeeper made important stops and Santos finished with nine men after a late injury compounded a dismissal.
According to Globo.com, Brazão produced at least two fine saves from Gustavo Henrique and Kaio César. He could not keep out a Memphis Depay strike.
Gabriel showed poacher's instinct by converting virtually his only clear chance before being replaced by Thaciano. Gabriel Bontempo was the best outfield performer, busy on the ball and linking with Rony on the right, but he shot tamely at Hugo Souza when well placed.
Oliva was steady despite frequent fouls and went close with a drive that flashed wide of Hugo Souza's goal. Neymar struggled, misplacing passes and threatening only from set plays. Gabriel Menino and Rollheiser arrived from the bench, the latter booked after a poor pass and tactical foul.
Zé Ivaldo was strong in the air as the spare centre-back but laboured on the deck against Breno Bidon and Memphis, while Adonis Frías endured a difficult night on the right of the back line. Luan Peres had competed well with Kaio César before two quick yellow cards brought his dismissal.
Barreal worked hard, then made way for Vini Lira, who struggled and later went off injured, leaving Santos to see out the closing minutes with two fewer. With Juan Vojvoda suspended, assistant Gáston Liendo used a back three, yet defensive transitions and creation still faltered.
