Brazil/France – Injury confirmed for a PSG player!

Carlo Ancelotti, Brazil’s head coach, spoke at a press conference this Wednesday ahead of the friendly against France on Thursday evening (kick-off at 9 p.m., live on TF1). He was notably asked to provide an update on the pain felt by Marquinhos, the 31-year-old Brazilian defender and Paris Saint-Germain captain, who was absent from Seleção training yesterday.

“Marquinhos has a minor issue, he will not be available for the match against France, but he could play against Croatia. It’s an important time in the season, there are a lot of matches and a lot of important games. It’s normal for players to have a few problems.”

So there is no longer any suspense for this Brazil/France match: Marquinhos will unfortunately miss this major World Cup warm-up match this summer. At least, we can hope that his injury is only minor and short-lived, since Carlo Ancelotti has left the door open for the match against Croatia next Wednesday. So let’s hope for good news soon, while trusting the coach and his staff to be cautious for this final sprint of the season.
