Brazilian midfielder Oscar was rushed to hospital after suffering cardiac episode during routine performance test at Sao Paulo FC on Wednesday evening.

According to club officials, the 34 year old experienced abnormal cardiac reactions while completing exercise bike assessment & briefly lost consciousness.

The club’s medical staff treated him immediately before he was transferred to hospital for further evaluation.

"Oscar showed abnormal cardiac reactions during routine preseason checkup. He received immediate treatment and was transported to the hospital. He's currently stable & undergoing additional tests"..

Oscar later reassured fans via Instagram writing:

"Thank you so much for the messages & prayers. Everything will be fine"

Oscar returned to his boyhood club in December 2024 ending 8 year spell in China with Shanghai Port.

But his comeback season has been hampered by multiple muscular injuries and Brazilian media now suggest he may consider retiring earlier than planned despite having contract until 2027.
