Chelsea are getting ready to face Brentford in a huge Premier League game to start the Liam Rosenior. Playing at centre back is Tosin Adarabioyo, a player we’ve seen enough of to know he’s never going to be top quality.
With Wesley Fofana unable to play twice a week due to his injury history, Benoit Badiashile also injury prone and Levi Colwill out for the season, the Blues have been forced to use Tosin a lot.
Despite Enzo Maresca asking for another defender in the summer, Chelsea didn’t buy one. Now, however, it seems plans have changed.

Ben Jacobs discusses Chelsea’s bid for Jeremy Jacquet.
The last few days have seen well connected Chelsea insiders suddenly claiming that the Blues are now in the market for a defender, and the name that quickly rose to the top of the list was Jeremy Jacquet.
The Rennes talent is wanted by a host of top teams, but according to Ben Jacobs’ reporting this afternoon, has told his club he wants to join Chelsea this month. Jacobs adds that Rennes are hoping for a bigger fee than the €64m they got from Man City for Jeremy Doku.
It’s a huge amount to spend on an unproven player, no matter how highly rated. But it looks like the Blues are getting itchy to do something this month, so it might just happen.
An interesting transfer rumour popped up in the buildup to this game, claiming Chelsea were interested in a very highly priced player. We simply don’t believe it, sadly.
Chelsea’s team for today’s game is interesting, with some selections forced on Liam Rosenior but others likely his decision. One key attacking star is missing, and we hope the team has enough firepower on the bench without him.
