After a glittering career full of milestones, Spanish star Jordi Alba is entering the home stretch of his football journey. He took to his personal Instagram account to announce his intention to retire from football at the close of the current season.

Alba is currently in the thick of preparations with Inter Miami for the crucial upcoming playoff matches, which will serve as the official swansong for the veteran left-back. This decision follows an extraordinary 11-year spell with Barcelona, where he racked up 459 appearances, netted 27 goals, and delivered 99 assists.

The Spanish left-back called time on his international career in the summer of 2023, then immediately embarked on his American adventure with Inter Miami under a contract running until 2027. Despite having several years left on his deal, Alba has opted to hang up his boots early, bowing out with a trophy-laden legacy that includes four La Liga titles, four Copa del Rey triumphs, a Champions League crown and a European Championship.
