Breno Bidon scores again for Corinthians, joins team's top scorers in 2026

Corinthians faced São Paulo at the Neo Química Arena on Sunday afternoon (18th) and ended up with a 1-1 draw. The tie in the Majestoso left the Alvinegro in seventh place on the overall state championship table with four points (one win, one draw, and one loss) – the penultimate spot that grants a place in the knockout stage of the competition.

The Corinthians' goal was scored by midfielder Breno Bidon, late in the second half, after receiving a pass from forward Pedro Raul inside the area. The number 18 exchanged passes with the Filho do Terrão after a pass from Matheus Pereira and just set it up for number 7 to hit the back of Rafael's net. The last goal by the Filho do Terrão for Timãozinho was on June 12, 2025, in a 1-1 draw against Grêmio, away from home, in the 12th round of the Brasileirão.

The midfielder, in fact, scored his first goal of the season – in his third game of the year – and joined the list of the team's top scorers in 2026 alongside André Ramalho, Gustavo Henrique, and André, each with one goal. Breno Bidon is one of Corinthians' main revelations in recent years and was promoted to the professional squad right after winning the 2024 Copinha, where he was named the star of the competition, defeating Cruzeiro in the grand final.

In 104 games wearing the Corinthians jersey (79 as a starter), with 46 wins, 28 draws, and 30 losses – a 53.2% success rate, he has scored three goals and provided three assists. The young player was an important part of the team's historic run in the 2024 Brasileirão (from the relegation zone to the Pre-Libertadores and a spot in the Copa do Brasil), as well as being a starter in the Paulistão and Copa do Brasil victories, both in 2025, against Palmeiras and Vasco, respectively.

Breno Bidon is expected to be available for Corinthians' next match, also in the Campeonato Paulista. This is because, next Thursday (22nd), at 7:30 PM (Brasília time), the Alvinegro will visit Santos at Vila Belmiro for the fourth round of the first stage of the state championship.
