Brentford ‘to set sights on’ Mainz talisman Kaishū Sano

According to Allgemeine Zeitung, Brentford have supposedly expressed interest in Mainz defensive midfielder Kaishū Sano.

If the English club intensify their search for a new holding player, Sano is likely to be high on their shortlist.

Should he be sold after the season, two years before his contract expires, Mainz are expected to make a substantial transfer profit.

The Rhineland-Palatinate side signed the Japanese player from Kashima Antlers in 2024 for around €2.5 million. It is believed the Bundesliga’s 13th-placed team will demand at least €25 million for Sano, who has not missed a single minute this season.

The 25-year-old is also being targeted by Eintracht Frankfurt, among others.
