Brentford made it 10 wins in a row after beating Denham United 6-2 on Wednesday evening at Bedfont Sports Club.

Mollie Holmes scored her first goal in three seasons following an incredible strike moments before the interval. Two goals in five minutes from Ashley Cheatley in the second half wrapped up another incredible win for the home side.

Karleigh Osborne made just one change to the side that beat Dulwich Hamlet Reserves on Sunday with the match winner Paula Holguin coming in for an injured Ashley Cheatley.

The striker did well to make room for a shot inside the Denham box with her strike finding the bottom left corner.

Denham responded almost instantly getting a stroke of luck with their goal as a Brentford clearance bounced off Jenny Nagle into the back of the net.

Brentford were playing some good football with Nikki Woods looking especially threatening in behind Logie and Holguin.

The home side thought they had got themselves back in front on 18 minutes when Woods’ shot deflected into the path of Logie who turned the ball home, but the linesman’s flag denied the striker her second of the game.

Logie wasn’t to be denied 10 minutes later though after an excellent through ball from Freya Worsley found the striker who finished superbly to put Brentford back ahead.

Osborne’s side made it 3-1 before the half hour mark as they continued to display their unavailable attacking talent.

This time it was Matthews who ended a brilliant move with a cheeky chip over the Denham keeper with her weaker right foot.

The home side wasn’t done their as they made it four moments before the half-time whistle was blown thanks to an incredible goal from long-serving captain Holmes.

The fan favourite struck the ball perfectly from distance with her strike coming off the bar before landing in the side netting.

The opening 20 minutes of the second half were less action packed as Brentford led comfortably.

This was until Cheatley replaced Holguin and scored two goals in four minutes of coming onto the pitch.

Both her strikes were from distance lobbing the Denham keeper who played off her line for the majority of the match as she tried to sweep up Brentford’s through balls.

Logie was denied her hat-trick on 77 minutes when the strikers shot from close range crashed off the post before the ball found the arms of the Denham keeper.

Denham scored the final goal of the game but it was just consolation as Brentford claimed all three points again.
