Brian Brobbey said Sunderland must be more clinical after losing to Brighton at the Stadium of Light. According to Sunderland Echo, he accepted the team struggled to create and must take chances.
Sunderland lost 1-0 on Wearside to a second-half strike from Yankuba Minteh. Régis Le Bris’ side created little in a tight Premier League contest.
Brobbey said the squad are working on solutions in training and hope to find rhythm soon. He added he has enjoyed his start with a close, welcoming group.
The 23-year-old wants performances that nudge him back into the Netherlands picture before the next World Cup. His plan is simple, score and take it game by game.
He called the Stadium of Light a good venue, citing Marseille and Ajax. Facing compatriot Bart Verbruggen was not on his mind.
Arriving late in the window, Brobbey said he is happy with the move, the fans and the Dutch links.
Le Bris confirmed pre-match setbacks for Angulo and Enzo Le Fée in training, prompting another reshuffle in attack and fresh uncertainty before next weekend’s Tyne-Wear derby.
He said Nilson Angulo may face at least four to six weeks out, while Enzo Le Fée might be back sooner and is a derby hope. Wilson Isidor carried an issue, so was not used late.
The head coach added the squad are on the edge physically and must be cautious. Dan had hamstring discomfort, and they hope it is not serious. Reinildo is due to train with the group tomorrow.
