Brighton are facing a serious attacking emergency that could have direct repercussions on Roma’s transfer window.

Stefanos Tzimas suffered a serious knee injury during the match against Aston Villa and will be sidelined for several months, as confirmed by manager Hürzeler in a press conference.

This loss is a significant one for the Seagulls, who now have only Welbeck as their regular striker.

The manager has often used Rutter as a false nine, but this hasn’t been entirely convincing, and even the young Kostoulas, valued at over €30 million, hasn’t yet fulfilled his potential.

Faced with such a depleted attack, Brighton is carefully considering options for the January transfer window, including the possible early return of Evan Ferguson.

The Irish striker, currently on loan at Roma, arrived in the capital with high expectations but has yet to find the consistency and brilliance he hoped for under Gasperini.

Rather than seek new reinforcements on the market, the Seagulls could opt to bring Ferguson back, especially if his Serie A performances don’t improve by the end of December.

Fabian Hürzeler spoke about this in a press conference: “We’ll see when January arrives how we try to improve the team and what changes we want to make. But right now we still have a few weeks ahead. We need to find solutions within the squad and with the players we have, and the squad is definitely good enough to find good solutions.”
