Champions looking to get back to winning ways against the Seagulls on Monday night

Liverpool travel to Brighton in their final away match of the season tonight.

This is the first of two fixtures the recently-crowned Premier League champions must play before finally getting their hands on the trophy to kick-start those planned celebrations on Merseyside.

Since thrashing Tottenham 5-1 last month to clinch the title, Liverpool’s levels have, understandably, dipped. They were beaten 3-1 away Chelsea before letting a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 at home to Arsenal last weekend.

Ahead of their penultimate game of the campaign, the squad and head coach Arne Slot have enjoyed some downtime abroad, which could be great news for Brighton as they look to sign off at home on a high.

The Seagulls are very much in the hunt for a top-eight finish in the Premier League, though they will have been pained to see rivals Crystal Palace lift the FA Cup on Saturday.

Brighton vs Liverpool is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off tonight on Monday May 19, 2025.

The match will take place at the Amex Stadium in Brighton.

Brighton are set to be without Ferdi Kadioglu, James Milner and Solly March because of injury, with a small chance that Georginio Rutter could be involved.

Captain Lewis Dunk and fellow defender Joel Veltman will both return, while Joao Pedro is available for selection again after serving a three-match ban for being shown a red card for violent conduct at Brentford last month.

For the visitors, Joe Gomez is the only doubt. The defender has returned to training in the past week after undergoing hamstring surgery in February, but it remains to be seen if he’s ready for action.

Slot does have a decision to make regarding the inclusion of Trent Alexander-Arnold. The right-back was subject to boos from some sections of the Anfield crowd last weekend and the Liverpool boss has suggested he could leave the England international out of final two matches of the season if his involvement becomes a distraction.

Brighton vs Liverpool prediction

Liverpool have, quite literally, been on the beach this week. Despite that, it will not be an easy game for Brighton as Mohamed Salah, in particular, is chasing the Premier League assists record, so expect the visitors to carry a threat in attack.

That said, the Reds most likely won’t be at their very best as evidenced by games against Chelsea and Arsenal.
