Brighton’s summer intake has delivered mixed returns as the season nears its end, defined by injuries, loans and stuttering minutes.
According to TheArgus.co.uk, this assessment covers those who featured, excluding Yoon Doyoung. Charalampos Kostoulas and mid-season arrival Stefanos Tzimas headlined the forward recruits, with Maxim De Cuyper, Diego Coppola, Olivier Boscagli and Tom Watson also joining.
Albion invested close to £50m in the two Greek forwards. Tzimas built momentum before a season-ending ACL injury in the 4-3 defeat at Aston Villa in December 2025.
He had made 12 appearances and scored three. Kostoulas, 18, has 21 outings with two goals and one assist, his standout a bicycle kick to secure a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth in January.
Boscagli has struggled for minutes. Hurzeler has acknowledged his frustration and urged him to challenge the starters and stay ready, and the 28-year-old has 13 games amid rumours about his future.
De Cuyper has brought creativity from left-back across 25 appearances, though minor knee and achilles issues have checked his momentum.
Watson, signed for £10m after scoring in Sunderland’s £220 million play-off final, made 10 Albion appearances and scored once before a February loan to second place Millwall, where he has 10 outings and one goal. Coppola played nine times for Albion, then moved to Paris FC in January and has seven appearances there.
