Bristol City interim manager Roy Hodgson has backed on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek to become a Premier League player.
Vitik has impressed during a season-long loan spell at the Championship club, where he has made 32 league appearances this season.
The goalkeeper impressed as Bristol City beat Sheffield United 1-0 on Monday, with saves from Andre Brook, Gus Hamer and Patrick Bamford helping to preserve his clean sheet.
The 22-year-old has been backed to return to Manchester United and challenge Senne Lammens next season, with current back-up goalkeeper Altay Bayindir expected to leave Old Trafford.
Hodgson, who recently returned to Bristol City 44 years on from his first spell as manager, believes Vitik has all the attributes to be a top-flight regular.
“I have only watched our players for two games so I have to be careful what I say, but from what I have seen Radek has all the attributes to be a Premier League goalkeeper,” he said.
You want your keeper to have a good physique, be a good shot-stopper, command his area when it comes to crosses and have a powerful kick. To me, he fills all those requirements.”
