Bruma reflects on bruising 2025/26, eight months out after Achilles rupture | OneFootball

Bruma has addressed Benfica supporters after a 2025/26 season overshadowed by a complete rupture of his left Achilles tendon at the start of the campaign.

The player said in a post that the injury halted early momentum and left the remainder of his season compromised, with eight months of recovery and frustration at being unable to help on the pitch.

He felt desperate to return and support team-mates, but accepted that his body would not allow it during that period.

He now considers the setback behind him, feels in good shape, quick and confident, and is eager for the restart to deliver performances worthy of the supporters’ expectations.

In 2025/26 with Benfica, the winger, valued at five million euros, managed only three official appearances after his comeback, totalling 19 minutes without a goal or an assist.
