Manchester United were open to parting ways with Bruno Fernandes last summer. However, Ruben Amorim convinced his fellow countryman to continue at Old Trafford as his leading man.
With Amorim now out the door, United are set to undergo yet another rebuild, and it remains unclear where Fernandes would fit into the incoming manager’s system.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming the United skipper wants to leave the club, as he believes the side has “lost its way” under INEOS.
United’s FA Cup exit was allegedly the “breaking point” for Fernandes, who is not short of options.
According to Fichajes, Bayern Munich are pushing to sign Bruno Fernandes.
It is claimed Bayern view the Portugal international as a “leader” and a “complete midfielder capable of raising the team’s competitive level.”
Furthermore, the 31-year-old attacking midfielder is believed to be “very keen” to wear the Bavarian jersey as he feels Bayern are in a strong position to win major trophies.
The United fan favourite will consider the Bundesliga giants’ offer, but he will not force an “abrupt departure”.
The Spanish outlet adds that Bayern are preparing an offer of around €100 million to convince United to sell arguably their best player.
An offer of that magnitude would force United to enter serious negotiations with Bayern. Cristiano Ronaldo’s €94m move to Real Madrid in 2009 remains the Mancunians’ record sale.
It has been previously reported that Fernandes’ team-mates fear their talisman has had enough of the mess at United.
As such, it would be best for United to open the exit door for the Portuguese maestro, who has earned the right to decide whether or not he stays in Manchester.
United are expected to make a move for Juventus playmaker Kenan Yildiz should Fernandes depart.
