Captain Bruno Fernandes is the latest player to pay homage to the outgoing Pellistri, posting a goodbye message on his Instagram.

Alongside pictures of the pair, Fernandes praised the attitude of the forward and wished him all the best for the future.

“Hermanito was a pleasure to meet you and play alongside you. If is there someone that deserves everything good in a football career is you ! An example of professionalism and humility.

“Big things are coming to you soon I’m pretty sure,” he wrote, with a love heart emoji.

Pellistri responded in kind with a heartwarming response to his now former teammate.

“The pleasure was mine to share and play with you!

“What a player and, the most important thing, what a guy. Thank you for always being behind me and behind every player in this club. You are the definition of CAPTAIN!” he wrote.

Pellistri’s move to Greece is said to be worth an initial €6m to United with an additional €2m in add-ons.

United have also negotiated a significant 45% sell-on clause as part of the arrangement, a nod to Pellistri’s ability and potential.

The 22-year-old leaves Old Trafford having made 25 appearances for the first team, registering two assists but failing to get on the scoresheet himself.

Pellistri will be hoping to kickstart his career with the Greek club who are attempting to get back to the top of the Super League table for the first time in 15 years.

Fernandes, meanwhile will lead United into their second Premier League fixture of the season against Brighton, this coming Saturday.

United are vying for back-to-back wins at the start of the new campaign having scraped past Fulham by a late Joshua Zirkzee goal to nil on the opening day.
