Bruno Guimaraes return latest as Newcastle boss Howe discusses his future | OneFootball

Bruno Guimaraes could return for Newcastle this weekend in their clash with Bournemouth.

The midfielder has been out since February with a hamstring injury but boss Eddie Howe says he is close to being involved.

“There is a chance he can be fit for the weekend,” Howe said.

“We have seen him in training, he is pushing hard to be involved, he is desperate to help the team, desperate to be involved. So, there is a possibility, I will make a decision off the back of training today.”

Howe has come under pressure this season following a disappointing Premier League campaign but the Newcastle boss insists he is excited for the future.

“My fire is burning very, very strongly,” he said. “That’s no guarantee from my side what’s going to happen in the future because as I’ve said, the forces that move in football clubs move quickly.

“But my fire is there. There’s loads of wood stacked up and I’m ready to put it on it.”
