Bruno Guimaraes on media duties today (Wednesday) ahead of Thursday night’s match.

No surprise that he was also asked about other matters, as well as Barcelona and the Champions League

Bruno Guimaraes asked about Alexander Isak’s departure:

“I think that football is business.

“I think that the club made a choice.

“He has gone and I wish him all the best.

“I am grateful for everything we achieved together.

“But this is not the time to look at the past, it is time to look forward to the future at Newcastle.

“We have the Barca game and we are looking forward to it.”

Bruno Guimaraes asked what Newcastle United can do to make sure they keep their best players:

“It is a good question.

“You have financial fair play and I don’t know if this affects things or not.

“I’m not under the table to see the circumstances to see what was going on.

“Football is business.

“As a player, we don’t want to lose our best players, if we want to be successful.

“We have to improve our squad and I think we did this very well in this summer.

“We look forward to going again.

“I want to win things.

“I have never changed my mind and I still look to make history at this club.

“We have been in the Champions League twice in the last three years, that is unbelievable for us.

“We have to keep that going.

“There is a big job for us to do here and I want to be part of this team.”

Bruno Guimaraes asked about the possibility of winning silverware in European competition:

“It is going to be something that we are looking for in the future.

“We don’t want to put limits on our dreams.

“We just want to play game by game and see what we have got.

“We are very excited and hope that we can go as far as possible [in the Champions League].

“I’m very excited, I have never faced Barcelona before.

“I watched some of their teams when I was younger and the player that made me fall in love with football was Ronaldinho, so I always watched Barcelona play.

“And then after, Iniesta, Xavi, Messi…

“It is nice to see another Brazilian shine there again in Raphinha.

“I can’t wait for tomorrow, to play the game.”

Bruno Guimaraes asked about playing alongside Sandro Tonali:

“He is very good, very, very good.

“I’m enjoying it a lot, playing by his side.

“I think we complement each other.

“I think he is enjoying playing by my side as well.

“We have a very good connection with each other and I think we have one of the best midfields in the Premier League to be honest.

“Now we have to prove it in the Champions League as well.

“I think the midfield does almost everything…attack, defend, save the ball on the line, score as well.
