Bruno Henrique out of Flamengo’s Madureira semi-final first leg | OneFootball

Flamengo will be without Bruno Henrique for Sunday’s first leg of the Campeonato Carioca semi-final against Madureira. The forward is feeling pain and will be rested.

The club said in a statement that discomfort in the pubic area has ruled him out of the match and he is undergoing intensive treatment. Jorginho and Wallace Yan also remain in the medical department.

In recent months Filipe Luís has used Bruno Henrique as a centre-forward, so Pedro Guilherme is the likeliest starter. Another option is Gonzalo Plata as a number 9. A further alternative is to repeat the Lanús plan, with Jorge Carrascal and Arrascaeta floating in that role.

Aside from the injured trio, Flamengo have named their strongest available group for Madureira. The expectation is that Bruno Henrique should not be a problem for Thursday 26, when they contest the Recopa against Lanús. Even with that fixture looming, Filipe Luís has taken the full squad and could still opt for a largely rotated XI.

Kick-off is 20:30 Brasília time at the Maracanã. GE TV, SporTV and Premiere will broadcast the match.
